RESUMEN

Since spring 2002 HERA has started data taking. After a brief review on a personal selection of physics subjects at the HERA collider I will recall the upgrades and modifications made to the accelerator and to the H1 detector. Thereafter I will summarize the problems and the solutions found during the 2002-2003 running, the current status and the expectations for the current data-taking.
