I was a dispersed girl that loved the stars and was amazed with all living beings, as a result I became an astrobiologist.
Astrobiology is an emergent science that has a very simple objective: to understand all the processes in the Universe that are related to the origin and evolution of life.
In particular, I am working on the characterization of terrestrial habitable planets around other stars. This project is relevant for the mission Terrestrial Planet Finder that will detect Earth-size planets around other stars.
I started this research as a postdoc with Dr. James Kasting from the Penn State Astrobiology Research Center.
After that I was a postdoc in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory/California Institute of Technology (JPL/Caltech) where I worked at the Virtual Planetary Laboratory (VPL) lead by Dr. Victoria Meadows. This project is a member of the NASA Astrobiology Institute.
Now I am working as a researcher at the Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
