My name is David Gelbwaser and I have just finished my BSc. in Physics at the Universidad Nacional Automa de Mico. I did my thesis about Berry's Phases under the supervision of Dr. Chryssomalis Chryssomalakos. The central question was if a particle restricted to move on an extended objects embedded on a higher dimensional space will acquire a Berry phase when the extended object is deformed. We studied the particular case of curves embedded on a three dimensional space. And we found a curve that has that property. To see the result go to Berry's phases on extended object page.
